UPSC has officially declared and also provides notice about the change in pattern of ESE, IES exams from 2017 onwards and not from 2016. As per the new pattern there has been a slight change in the syllabus and format of exams of IES and ESE.
Below is the brief description about the new changes in the pattern of exams:
In the first Stage there will be two papers:
So, the total marks for the First stage will be 500 Marks
The first stage of the exam is compulsory for the students to crack but the minimum qualifying marks to clear the first stage is not yet declared by UPSC.
In the Second Stage there will be two papers:
So, the total marks for the second stage will be 600 Marks
The second stage of the exam is also compulsory for the students to clear but the minimum qualifying marks to clear the first stage is not yet declared by UPSC.
In the Third Stage there will be Personality Test contains 200 Marks
Grand Total: 500 + 600 + 200 = 1300 Marks. And the minimum qualifying marks out of 1300 is not yet been declared by UPSC.
